Pricing & Timing

How much does landscaping cost in Chattanooga?

Pricing depends on scope, materials, and site conditions. Lawn maintenance typically ranges from $50 to $200+ per visit. Full landscape design-build projects, hardscaping, and patio installations are quoted per project after an on-site consultation. We provide a written estimate before any work begins.

When is the best time to plan a landscaping or hardscaping project?

Winter is often the best time to plan because our schedule is more flexible and design decisions can be made without seasonal pressure. Installations typically happen in spring and summer. Planning early helps you avoid rushed decisions and secure your spot on the installation calendar. See our winter planning guide for more.

How long does a typical project take?

Timeline varies by scope. A simple flower bed refresh may take a day or two. Patio installations typically run 3–7 days. Larger design-build projects with hardscaping, drainage work, and plantings can take 2–4 weeks. We provide a project timeline as part of every estimate.

Do you offer recurring maintenance or just one-time work?

Both. We work with homeowners on ongoing maintenance plans for lawn care, seasonal cleanups, and irrigation service, and we handle one-time projects like patio installs, retaining walls, and complete landscape renovations. Whatever fits your situation.

Design & Materials

What type of grass grows best in Chattanooga?

Chattanooga sits in a transition zone, so both warm-season and cool-season grasses can work. Bermuda and Zoysia perform well in sunny areas and handle heat and drought reasonably well. Tall fescue is usually the better choice for shaded or mixed-light yards. The right choice depends on your specific lot conditions — we’ll help you decide.

Why is drainage such a big deal in Chattanooga?

Chattanooga’s hilly terrain, heavy seasonal rainfall, and clay-heavy soil combine to create drainage challenges most yards face. Without proper grading, French drains, or dry creek beds, water pools in low spots, erodes slopes, and can compromise patios, driveways, and foundations. Good drainage is often the foundation of a healthy landscape here.

Do I need a retaining wall on my property?

You may need one if your yard has a steep slope, is eroding after rain, has a driveway or patio that’s cracking or shifting, or already has a failing wall. Retaining walls are also useful for creating usable flat space on sloped lots. Read our retaining walls guide for signs to watch for.

What materials do you use for hardscaping?

Our most common materials are segmental block pavers, natural stone, boulders, and concrete pavers. For retaining walls specifically, segmental block and natural stone are the most durable choices for our climate. We’ll walk you through material options during design so you understand the tradeoffs between look, longevity, and budget.

Can you help with outdoor lighting?

Yes. We design and install low-voltage landscape lighting, path lights, uplighting for trees and architectural features, and pathway and security lighting. Outdoor lighting extends the usable hours of your outdoor space and highlights your landscape investment. Get details on our outdoor lighting page.

Do you handle irrigation and sprinkler systems?

Yes. We install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial irrigation systems throughout the Chattanooga area. This includes sprinkler system design, drip irrigation for beds, seasonal startup and winterization, and repairs to existing systems. See our irrigation services page for more.
